BEIRUT — Banque du Liban’s Special Investigation Commission (SIC) ordered the freezing of Creditbank shareholder Fadi Barbar’s Lebanese bank accounts and lifted banking secrecy over them, according to a July 14 decision reviewed by L’Orient Today.The decision extends to his wife, Chamma Hassan Sakr, Financial Profile Holding, the company registered in her name that holds a 20% stake in Creditbank, and their two children.The measure comes as judicial authorities continue investigating an alleged $310 million shortfall at Creditbank (in "lollars" at an exchange rate of LL 15,000 to the dollar.
