BEIRUT — Civil Defense announced Wednesday that its teams intervened to control a fire that broke out on a tanker truck transporting gas in the city of Hermel.
During the firefighting operations, the tank exploded but caused no casualties, according to a Civil Defense statement.
A video received by L’Orient-Le Jour shows the truck engulfed in flames before the explosion. The firefighters managed to isolate the area and prevent the fire from spreading, the statement added.
