General amnesty: Parliament set to reopen debate

The date is set: Wednesday and Thursday. On those days, Parliament will convene in plenary session for the first time since April, as part of the extraordinary parliamentary session that runs until Oct. 19. MPs are expected to vote on a number of bills, including one abolishing the death penalty. Most notably, however, Parliament will reopen debate on the highly controversial general amnesty bill, which has been on hold since May.
