BEIRUT — The military court presided over by General Wassim Fayad held a hearing on Tuesday dedicated to questioning Nouh Zeaiter, an alleged drug trafficker involved in numerous high-profile drug trafficking cases. According to a judicial source, the interrogation focused on three cases, pending the review of about fifty others brought before military justice.

The cases examined are mainly based on statements from individuals claiming to have bought drugs from the defendant. This situation reportedly led Zeaiter to lament that his name is systematically linked to such cases, or to every confession obtained from a suspect in a drug-related case, even though he spent twelve years in Syria. The military court scheduled the next hearing for November 2.

Additionally, another session dedicated to five separate cases — also involving drug trafficking and others related to an attempted murder — is set for July 6.

Meanwhile, Zeaiter recently appeared before the Beirut criminal court for cases also related to drug trafficking. His next hearing before this court is scheduled for October 19.
