Iran's president and the United Arab Emirates crown prince met in New Delhi on Saturday, the Iranian embassy in India said, as the countries remain at odds over the Middle East war, AFP reported.
The embassy said that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian "held a meeting and talks" with the senior UAE official on the sidelines of the BRICS summit, posting a photograph of the meeting with Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed on social media.
has launched multiple missile and drone strikes targeting the UAE as part of the broader regional conflict involving the U.S., Israel, and Iran that escalated in late February 2026. Iranian forces have repeatedly targeted military installations hosting U.S. personnel in the UAE, such as Al Dhafra Air Base and Al Minhad Air Base. Drone and missile strikes have caused collateral and direct damage, including incidents hitting commercial and digital infrastructure like Amazon Web Services data centers
Iran has also targeted oil tankers and commercial vessels linked to UAE state firms in the Strait of Hormuz, prompting strong diplomatic condemnations and economic suspensions from Emirati officials. The vast majority of incoming projectiles and drones have been successfully intercepted by the UAE's air defense systems (such as Patriot and THAAD), though falling debris has caused localized damage and casualties.
