The emergency operations center of the health ministry announced Wednesday a heavy toll from the previous day’s Israeli strikes, from overnight Monday into Tuesday and up until 8 p.m. Tuesday, in south Lebanon: five killed and 48 injured.
The ministry condemned an attack on Tibnin Hospital (Bint Jbeil) on Tuesday that left 11 injured, including a doctor and five medical personnel, as well as causing significant damage to the building, while recalling that strikes against health institutions are contrary to international law.
The ministry also recorded two killed, including a child, and 32 injured, including four Palestinians, in Burj al-Shemali (Sour). In Ebba (Nabatieh), three people were killed and five injured, including a woman and a Syrian national.
Israeli strikes continue unabated on south Lebanon despite the cease-fire that was supposed to have come into effect since early April. Hezbollah’s operations against the Israeli army, which occupies large areas of the south, are also ongoing.
