In Verdun, a ‘spiritual summit’ to preserve national unity, and boost the government
After expressing reservations about the final statement, Ali Khatib, vice president of the Supreme Islamic Shiite Council, is expected to attend on Tuesday.
The last one dates back to 2024. A spiritual summit is set to be held on Tuesday at the Druze Community House in Verdun, at the initiative of Druze spiritual leader Sheikh Akl Sami Abi al-Mona. Against a backdrop of heightened political and sectarian tensions, and at a time when Beirut and its southern suburbs could once again be in Israel’s sight, the religious gathering will provide an opportunity to call for national unity.
