BEIRUT — Interior Minister Ahmad Hajjar took part Friday in a meeting organized by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman (MBS) with the most prominent guests of this year's Hajj pilgrimage, at the Mina Palace in Mecca, according to the state-run National News Agency (NNA).
Hajjar conveyed to MBS the greetings of President Joseph Aoun and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, and expressed "Lebanon's and Lebanese pilgrims' appreciation for Saudi Arabia's efforts and facilitation" in this regard.
On Thursday, Hajjar met with his Saudi counterpart and chairman of the Hajj Commission, Prince Abdel Aziz bin Saud bin Naief bin Abdel Aziz. He discussed "Lebanon's growing challenges and ongoing Israeli aggression," calling for "intensified joint efforts" between Lebanon and Saudi Arabia.
In a statement released Thursday, the Lebanese Health Ministry reported that Israel has killed 3,324 people and injured 10,027 others in its re-escalated war on Lebanon from March 2 to May 28 2026. According to the figures, Israel killed 55 and wounded 187 people in 24 hours, following an escalation against the southern cities of Sour and Nabatieh.
