BEIRUT — The Foreign Ministry said it “strongly condemns” Iranian attacks targeting the United Arab Emirates with missiles and drones, calling them a “flagrant violation” of the country’s sovereignty, international law, and the U.N. Charter.

In a statement, the ministry said the attacks pose “a serious threat to regional security and stability.”

It expressed Lebanon’s “full solidarity” with the leadership, government, and people of the United Arab Emirates, affirming support for the country’s “legitimate right to defend its territory, protect its security and stability, and ensure the safety of its citizens and residents.”

The United Arab Emirates said Monday it was targeted by a barrage of missiles and drones, prompting condemnation from several Arab countries.

In Lebanon, other officials, including Tripoli MP Ashraf Rifi and Beirut MP Nabil Badr, also denounced the strikes.

For her part, MP Paula Yaacoubian said that "the Iranian attack on the UAE has undermined what remains of claims of good neighborly relations" and noted that "Iran’s regime and its trajectory represent a serious threat to the region."
