The Israeli army bombed Nabatieh, a major city in southern Lebanon located north of the Litani River, with a drone on Saturday morning, after forcing the evacuation of nine nearby villages. Israel continues to bomb this region, with or without prior warning, and its strikes have killed at least eight people since last night, according to information from our correspondent in the South.
Shortly before 10 a.m., a drone strike targeted Nabatieh, as the Israeli army continued to bombard the region. It also struck Zebdine, Zawtar al-Sharqieh and Adshit al-Shqif. This village is among the nine localities that the Israeli army threatened this morning. In a message on X, Israeli army Arabic-language spokesperson Avichay Adraee called on residents of Qaaqaaiyet al-Jisr, Adshit al-Shqif, Jibsheet, Ebba, Kfarjoz, Harouf, Doueir, Deir al-Zahrani and Habbouch to move at least one kilometer away from these localities ahead of strikes targeting "Hezbollah." On Friday evening, Habbouch had already received such threats and was shelled, with raids targeting homes and a supermarket that killed six people.
Since the night, strikes have been launched repeatedly on the Nabatieh region, without prior warning. Two people were killed in a strike and artillery fire on Shoukin. A two-wheeler was targeted by a drone in the same village. A strike in the al-Qalaa neighborhood of Habbouche left one dead and two wounded. A raid on Louaize, on the heights of Iqlim al-Tuffah, killed three people, and a drone strike on a car in Kfardajal, in the same area, killed two people.
Shells also fell on Zawtar al-Sharqieh and Meifdoun, as well as heavy machine gun fire in the valley between Zawtar al-Sharqieh and Zawtar al-Gharbieh, which followed four other bombardments on these two neighboring villages, the most targeted in the past 24 hours.
In addition to the Nabatieh district, strikes this morning also targeted Kounine (Bint Jbeil), Majdal Zoun (Sour), and artillery fire targeted Froun and Ghandourieh (Bint Jbeil).
Among the Israeli nighttime attacks, our correspondent's sources also reported machine gun fire from an Israeli helicopter flying over Deir Siryan, which the Israeli army has taken control of, an airstrike on Touline in Marjayoun district, another near Srireh in the Jezzine district, artillery bombardments on Kafra and Yater in the Bint Jbeil district, and the demolition of homes in Khiam.
According to a count by our correspondent in the South, Israeli attacks on Friday killed at least 24 people.
