SOUTH LEBANON — The Israeli army said on Monday that it had begun carrying out a series of strikes on "Hezbollah positions" in southern Lebanon and the Bekaa, according to a brief statement issued by its Arabic-language spokesperson, Ella Waweya.
Shortly before the announcement, our correspondent reported strikes in Tibnin, in Yater (Bint Jbeil district), in the area between Jmaijmeh and Majdal Selm (between the Bint Jbeil and Marjayoun districts), and between Kafra and Siddiqine (Sour district) in southern Lebanon.
