The Lebanese Army announced Saturday the arrest of three people involved in armed clashes Thursday near Bab al-Tabbaneh/Zahrieh in Tripoli, amid disputes between two families that led to the death of a soldier and left three others wounded.
The army also said it entered a building under construction Saturday in the Haykaliya neighborhood of Tripoli, the main city in northern Lebanon, following an incident.
There, they discovered the body of a wanted individual (A.H.), who had opened fire on the army on Thursday, causing the death of the aforementioned soldier.
Weapons, ammunition and military equipment were found near the body.
An investigation has been opened to determine the exact circumstances of the incident, under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities, according to a military statement.
