U.S. President Donald Trump said Friday that he has “stopped 10 wars,” expanding on a previous claim in which he cited eight. He also wrote on Truth Social that “we will MAKE LEBANON GREAT AGAIN!”
Speaking at a Turning Point USA event, Trump added that if conflicts involving Iran and Lebanon were included, the total would reach 10, without specifying what the other eight wars were.
Israel and Lebanon, for their part, agreed to implement a “cessation of hostilities” on April 16 at 9 p.m. GMT for an initial period of 10 days, intended to create space for peace negotiations, according to a text released by the U.S. State Department. Earlier, Iran and the United States announced a shaky, Pakistan-mediated two-week ceasefire beginning April 8.
In a separate post on Truth Social, Trump said a potential deal with Iran is “not tied, in any way, to Lebanon,” adding: “we will MAKE LEBANON GREAT AGAIN!”
