Located just three kilometers from the Israeli border along the coast, Naqoura, which also hosts UNIFIL's headquarters, holds a strategic position. Since the start of the war, the town in the Sour district, which can be regarded under Israeli occupation, has been repeatedly targeted by bombardments that have destroyed numerous buildings and roads.
