BEIRUT — President Joseph Aoun and First Lady Neemat Aoun received at Baabda Palace a delegation representing the families of victims killed in an Israeli strike on a building in Ain Saadé, a predominantly Christian area that had previously been spared by Israeli attacks.
The strike missed its target and caused three deaths, including a local Lebanese Forces official, in neighboring apartments.
The delegation was composed of Gabi, Gail and Charbel Maalouf, Marie-Josee Gerges, Elie Gerges and Nancy al-Rihani, according to a message posted on the Grand Serail's X account.
The head of state offered his condolences to the members of both families, "assuring them that the competent security and judicial authorities are continuing their investigations to clarify the circumstances of this attack and to take appropriate measures, emphasizing that the state is doing everything it can to stop the war and end the bloodshed."
