A rare and intense Israeli strike targeted the Nabatieh serail on Friday, killing 19 people, including 13 members of State Security. Meanwhile, bombardments continued across all of south Lebanon and the Bekaa, including airstrikes, drone attacks and artillery fire, resulting in several deaths and injuries. Hezbollah, for its part, claimed several attacks on Israeli positions, including an unprecedented missile strike on Ashdod, Israel, and sustained fire in the north of the country.

Strike on Nabatieh serail, 19 dead, including 13 State Security members

Nineteen people, including thirteen members of State Security, were killed and about fifteen wounded following intense Israeli strikes that targeted the Nabatieh serail. Two successive strikes, carried out with several missiles, hit the administrative building, damaging part of the facade and destroying several offices. The damage affected sensitive services, including facilities housing army intelligence, State Security, mokhtars, as well as installations belonging to the Internal Security Forces (ISF) and the public operator Ogero. The city’s market, already damaged in strikes in 2024, suffered further damage, as did several homes.

In the outskirts, four other strikes were reported, notably targeting areas in Kfar Joz near a complex occupied by the ISF, as well as the localities of Zibdin and Kfar Roummane. Eight civilians were killed in those three localities. The Directorate General of State Security confirmed the deaths of 13 of its members in the strike on the Nabatieh serail, condemning “these attacks targeting military and civilian personnel on Lebanese territory.”

Political reactions were swift. Lebanese President Joseph Aoun offered his condolences to State Security, stating that “targeting state institutions will not divert Lebanon from its commitment to protecting its territory and preserving its sovereignty.” “This painful ordeal strengthens our resolve to achieve, as soon as possible, a cease-fire to protect Lebanon and our population in the South,” said Prime Minister Nawaf Salam. Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri also offered his condolences to the leadership of State Security.

At least fifteen dead in strikes in south Lebanon; three in the Bekaa

In south Lebanon, Israeli strikes caused several casualties, according to our correspondent. In Jbah (Nabatieh district), a strike killed seven people and wounded two, while one fatality was reported in Majdal Selm (Marjayoun). Drone attacks also targeted several localities: in Kfar Tibnit, a van was hit (one dead and one wounded), killing Ali Ghaith, a member of the Arnoun municipal council; in Deir Qanoun Ras al-Ain (south of Sour), two Islamic Health Committee rescuers were killed; and in Sharqieh, a motorcycle was targeted, killing its driver. In the Nabatieh district, a strike on Qaaqaaiyet al-Jisr killed one and injured three. Elsewhere, Nidal al-Ezz and his wife were injured by Israeli fire as they headed to their orchard in the Mari plain (Hasbaya). Around 7 p.m., Israeli airstrikes targeted a Hezbollah ambulance on the main road from Adsheet to Qseibeh (Nabatieh), killing two and injuring two.

Other strikes targeted homes, including in Ain Baal, where a house sheltering Syrian workers was hit (deaths and injuries reported), and in Khirbet Silm (Bint Jbeil), where several injured were taken to the hospital. Lastly, a drone strike in Deir Antar wounded one person, and another on the road to Semmakiyeh (Sour) caused several injuries.

In the Bekaa, a strike targeted Sohmor, killing two people, according to our local correspondent. Another strike hit Douris, near Baalbeck, killing at least one person.

Israeli attacks continued in south Lebanon throughout the day, including airstrikes, artillery fire and drone attacks. The locality of Debbine was targeted several times by fighter jets and artillery. In the Sour district, strikes hit Mansouri, Shehabieh, Mjadel, Qana, and Majdal Zoun. In the Nabatieh and Bint Jbeil districts, several localities were targeted, including Qaaqaaiyet al-Jisr, Beit Yahoun, Safad al-Battikh, Sultaniyeh, Srifa, as well as Bint Jbeil and Kafra. Strikes also targeted Breikeh and Yohmor al-Shaqif. Drones carried out several attacks, notably in Jibsheet and Qasimieh, north of Sour, as well as on the outskirts of Deir Kifa. There was also artillery fire near journalists in Ibl al-Saqi (Marjayoun), while Khiam was hit by several airstrikes and bombardments. Other strikes targeted Bazourieh (Tyre) and Mahmoudiyeh (Jezzine). Finally, a drone strike targeted Jabal al-Botom.

The Israeli army also demolished houses in Aita al-Shaab (Bint Jbeil district), a village already heavily damaged since 2024. In Bazourieh (Sour), a strike targeted the home of a family that had already lost several members in a previous attack in Kaifoun (Aley). In addition, the home of the former president of the Higher Shiite Council (CSC), Abdel Amir Qabalan, was destroyed in a strike on Ansarieh (Saida).

Six civilians trapped in Mansouri

Sources in Mansouri (Sour district) told our correspondent that six civilians are trapped in the village and that evacuation efforts have so far failed. According to our correspondent, the Lebanese army and the Red Cross attempted to assist them, without success, due to Israeli artillery fire and airstrikes targeting the locality.

Hezbollah claims multiple attacks, including unprecedented one on Ashdod

Hezbollah claimed, for the first time since the resumption of the war with Israel on March 2, a missile strike on Ashdod, a coastal Israeli city located about 150 kilometers from the border. Air raid sirens sounded at dawn in this southern Israeli city, according to local media, which did not report any damage. In a statement, the party-militia said it had targeted “with precision missiles” the naval base at Ashdod port at 1 a.m. The Israeli army stated that Hezbollah fired about 30 rockets Friday from Lebanon toward Israel.

In northern Israel, several localities were hit by rocket and drone fire, including Karmiel, Safed, Misgav Am, Metula, Nahariya and Shlomi. Power was cut in Metula, northern Israel, after a Hezbollah rocket hit a power line, according to a local official quoted by Haaretz. Fire also damaged an empty school building in Deir al-Asad, in Upper Galilee, northern Israel, reports Haaretz. A fire was also extinguished in another Upper Galilee town after debris fell, according to the Israeli daily.

Hezbollah also claimed multiple attacks on Israeli positions in south Lebanon. In the Bint Jbeil sector, where fighting with the Israeli army has been ongoing since Thursday, volleys of rockets targeted Israeli soldiers and vehicles several times during the day, notably on the outskirts of the city and near the Al-Ishraq school. The group also said it targeted bulldozers demolishing homes in Aita al-Shaab and fired “a precision missile” at Israeli soldiers east of the former Khiam detention center in south Lebanon. Other attacks targeted military positions in Taybeh (Marjayoun), as well as soldiers stationed in Odaisseh using kamikaze drones.

'More than 4,300 Hezbollah infrastructures dismantled' since March 2

The Israeli army said it had “dismantled” more than 4,300 Hezbollah infrastructures in Lebanon since the start of the war on March 2. It also claims to have located more than 1,250 weapons, including long-range rockets, anti-tank missiles, RPG launchers and explosives. According to its statement, over 1,400 Hezbollah fighters have been “eliminated” in airstrikes or ground operations in southern Lebanon. Lebanese authorities report more than 1,953 killed since early March, including more than 160 children.

This week, the Israeli army also announced the “elimination” of Ali Kamel Abdel Hassan, described as the artillery chief of Hezbollah’s Nasser unit. It also accused Hezbollah of using ambulances for military purposes and warned of further attacks if this practice continues. Since the beginning of the conflict, several strikes have hit ambulances, rescuers and care centers in southern Lebanon.
