A new convoy of humanitarian aid has been delivered to certain Christian localities in the southern border area of Lebanon, at the initiative of Apostolic Nuncio Paolo Borgia.

The Vatican's representative made a first stop at the Melkite Saint Thomas Church in Sour's old city. "The pope is thinking of you and praying for you," the nuncio said to the assembled faithful. The delegation then unloaded a truck of aid intended for the local population, reports our on-site journalist, Stephanie Khouri.

"Nothing is happening here. This time, no one has left the neighborhood, because we have received assurances from the Americans that the Israelis will not target the Christians of Tyre [Sour]," said Nawal, a local resident. In addition, classes were suspended throughout the city today.

The Catholic Church has already organized several distributions of humanitarian aid in Christian villages in southern Lebanon, while Israel has been striking the South since March 2. Borgia has made several visits to various Christian villages in southern Lebanon to provide food and medical assistance.
