An Iranian attack on a base in Saudi Arabia wounded at least 12 U.S. soldiers, including two seriously, according to U.S. media reports Friday.

The attack on Prince Sultan Air Base in Al-Kharj, southeast of Riyadh, was carried out with at least one missile and several drones, according to The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal, citing anonymous officials. The soldiers were inside a building on the base at the time of the attack, The Wall Street Journal reported, adding that it occurred Friday. The reports also said several aerial refueling aircraft were damaged.

The Pentagon and U.S. Central Command did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Thirteen U.S. service members have been killed since the conflict with Iran began Feb. 28, including seven in Gulf countries and six in Iraq. More than 300 others have been injured.
