Following the ministerial statement, state media is breaking with the term “resistance”. On Monday, Information Minister Paul Morcos instructed officials at Télé-Liban (TL) and the National News Agency (NNA) to refrain from using the term “resistance” when referring to Hezbollah. The move is part of implementing the Cabinet’s March 2 decision, which declared the Iran-aligned party’s “military and security activities” illegal.In essence, it marks a further step toward a gradual rupture between the Lebanese state and Hezbollah — at least regarding its military wing.
