An Israeli strike on a health center killed at least 12 medical workers in Burj Qalaway, in southern Lebanon's Bint Jbeil district, Lebanon’s Health Ministry said Saturday.

In a statement, the ministry said it “mourns the health care workers of Burj Qalaway killed in an Israeli airstrike that targeted the city’s primary health care center.” It added that 12 doctors, paramedics and nurses on duty at the facility were killed and another health worker was wounded, while rescue operations were still underway.

The ministry said it was the second attack on the health sector within hours, following a strike in Sawaneh that killed two paramedics who belong to medical association affiliated with Hezbollah and its ally Amal.
