Spared until recently, the Mediterranean island of Cyprus – where many Lebanese have lived and worked for decades – are now caught up in the war between Iran, the United States and Israel which has set the region ablaze since Saturday. Contacted by L'Orient-Le Jour, Lebanese expatriates living in Cyprus say they are worried about the situation and are preparing for the risk of an escalation.On Monday, two drones reportedly launched by Hezbollah according to a Cypriot source cited by Reuters were intercepted near the British air base at Akrotiri, which hosts both military and civilian personnel.
