Baghdad denounces strikes against Iran, warns against Iraq's involvement

Iraqi authorities have denounced the U.S.-Israeli strikes on neighboring Iran and warned against any involvement of Iraq in the conflict after two people were killed in airstrikes in the south of the country.

Iraq "condemns the unjustified aggression against the Islamic Republic" and "warns of the consequences of this flagrant aggression" targeting Iraqi sites, said Sabah Al-Numan, the military spokesperson for the prime minister. He also warned against the use, which Baghdad rejects, of Iraqi airspace and territory "as a corridor or launching point for aggression against Iran."
