Two children accidentally fell into an agricultural lake in the village of Fneidek, in the highlands of Akkar in the far north of Lebanon, on Sunday and got pulled down by the weight of the water, our correspondent in the region reports.
Although rescuers arrived quickly and the young A.S. and I.S. were pulled from the water, attempts to revive them were unsuccessful. They passed away at Habtour Hospital in the village of Hrar, where they had been taken. Their loved ones gathered in grief at the hospital.
