A fire broke out Thursday morning at a juice box manufacturing factory in Fanar, Mount Lebanon, which killed one and injured two, according to the Civil Defense.
In a statement, the Civil Defense said, "The explosion of an industrial machine caused, around 4:30 a.m., the collapse of part of the ground floor and the first floor." When contacted, a Civil Defense spokesperson said it was the Lebanese factory "Bonjus," founded in 1962. He also noted that an Indian worker succumbed to his injuries, while two others, a Lebanese and a Syrian national, were hospitalized.
Several fires broke out in factories in Lebanon at the end of 2025 and the beginning of 2026, including in a butcher shop in Saida (south Lebanon), a recycling factory in Koura, and a Hawa Chicken factory in Anfeh (north Lebanon).
