The General Directorate of General Security (GS) announced on Wednesday updated fees for a number of its services in line with the 2026 state budget adopted earlier this month. While the cost of Lebanese biometric passports remained unchanged at LL 6 million for 5 years and LL 10 million for 10 years, as did travel passes, other fees, including Palestinian travel documents, residency permits, and entry visas, have increased.
Updated Fees
1.Palestinian Travel Document
- 3 years: LL 4,000,000 (from LL 3.600.000)
2. Residency Permits
- Annual residency – Work Permit Category I: LL 108,000,000 (from LL 82,000,000).
- Category II: LBP 72,000,000 (from LL 55,000,000)
- Category III: LL 24,000,000 (from LL 18,000,000 LBP).
- Category IV: LBP 18,000,000 (from LL 13,000,000.)
- Student residency: LL 15,000,000 (from LL 10,000,000).
- Annual residency (other categories): LL 15,000,000 (from LL 13,000,000).
- Annual temporary residency (for Syrian nationals): LL 18,000,000 (from LL 13,000,000.)
3. Entry Visas
- Transit and short stay (single or multiple): LL 2,000,000 (from LL 500,000 LBP).
- Visit/tourism visa: LL 2,000,000 (from LL 500,000).
The increase, which is linked to the adoption of the State budget during the last week of January, was announced as on Monday the government’s decision to raise VAT and fuel prices to finance salary increases for active and retired civil servants, as a source of income to fund a raise in salaries for civil servants and military personnel.
