Nabih Berri went to the Baabda Presidential Palace on Friday for a meeting with Joseph Aoun. This time, the news did not go unnoticed, as the meeting went beyond the usual visits of the legislative chief to the president of the republic. Berri carefully chose to go to Baabda palace at a time when the head of state has, for several days, been the target of a smear campaign on social media by Hezbollah supporters (and even journalists close to the movement), angered by Aoun's remarks about the monopoly on weapons.
