Air France resumed its service to Dubai on Saturday after temporarily suspending flights the previous day due to the geopolitical situation in the Middle East, the airline announced.

The French carrier said it is “closely monitoring developments in the Middle East in real time and continuously assessing the geopolitical situation in the territories served and overflown by its aircraft in order to ensure the highest levels of flight safety and security.”

Air France canceled two Paris–Dubai flights, AF660 and AF658, on Friday. As a result, two Dubai–Paris return flights scheduled for Saturday on the same aircraft were also canceled.

The United States has in recent days maintained pressure on Iran, even as the prospect of military intervention appeared to recede, with President Donald Trump saying on Thursday that a U.S. naval “armada” was heading toward the Gulf.

Trump has repeatedly threatened to strike Iran in response to the crackdown on the country’s recent protest movement but appeared to step back from that stance last week after saying Tehran had suspended planned executions of demonstrators.

The aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln, which had been operating in the South China Sea, is now en route to the Gulf, according to the Pentagon.
