President Joseph Aoun sent his best wishes to Lebanon's Armenian Orthodox community, which celebrates Christmas today, Jan. 6, according to the Armenian liturgical calendar.
The head of state praised "the active and remarkable presence of Lebanese Armenians over several generations, as well as their contributions to the country's development in various cultural, economic and social fields, which are a source of pride and consideration for us all."
"On this sacred occasion, we implore God to protect Lebanon and its people, to spread peace and security throughout the country, and to guide us all toward what is beneficial for our country and its development," he added.
The president said he had asked Youth and Sports Minister Nora Bayrakdarian to represent him at the Christmas Mass celebrated on Tuesday by the Armenian Orthodox Catholics of the House of Cilicia, Aram I, at the patriarchal headquarters in Antelias (Metn).
