Hezbollah condemned terrorist attack at the Imam Ali Mosque in Homs

Hezbollah on Saturday condemned the terrorist attack that targeted Alawite worshippers at the Imam Ali Mosque in the Syrian city of Homs, which resulted in dozens of casualties, the party said in a statement.

Hezbollah “strongly denounces this heinous crime that struck believers on the blessed Friday,” the statement read.

The party added that “the criminal hands that targeted a house of God reflect the true identity of these killers, who have no regard for sanctities or for intellectual and religious diversity, and who rely on a discourse of hatred, exclusion and rejection of others, in service of American and Israeli projects.”

Hezbollah called for “the perpetrators to be identified, brought to justice, and subjected to the harshest punishments.”

The attack was claimed by Saraya Ansar al-Sunna, a group hostile to Alawites, Shiites and Christians, which had also claimed responsibility for an attack on a church in Damascus last June.
