The United States, Israel and European countries are waging a “total war” against Iran, President Massoud Pezeshkian said in an interview published Saturday, more than six months after joint Israeli-American strikes on Iranian territory.

“In my view, we are in a total war against the United States, Israel and Europe; they want to bring our country to its knees,” he told the official website of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

France, the United Kingdom and Germany were behind the move to reinstate UN sanctions against Iran in late September over its nuclear program.
