The clashes on Monday in Aleppo between the Syrian army and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) cannot be separated from the content of the joint press conference held that same day in Damascus by the Syrian and Turkish foreign ministers. The two diplomats stated that the SDF are responsible for the non-implementation of the March 10 agreement, which provides for the integration of this Kurdish group into official institutions.Many observers have concluded that, given the warning tone used by the ministers, this meeting could pave the way to a Syrian military operation, supported by Turkey, against the SDF.
