On Thursday, Dec. 11, at Saint-Sulpice in Paris, renowned Franco-Lebanese soprano Marie-Josée Matar will once again headline the charity concert organized by conductor Hugues Reiner. This commitment has deep roots in her journey, beginning when the young artist first discovered singing and the musical discipline that would define her calling."I joined the Notre-Dame du Rosaire de Ghadir church choir at the age of seven. We only performed classical music, and I received training equivalent to that of the French masters' choirs," Matar recalls in a melodious voice. After studying at the Beirut conservatory, she naturally pursued a degree in musicology at USEK. It was one of her singing teachers, soprano Mihaelia Mingheras, who changed the course of her path through various master classes she offered to Lebanese opera artists....
