Israel is carrying out "large-scale" incursions in the Tubas governorate as part of a new escalation of raids, demolitions and arrests in the occupied West Bank.
It is late at night when Mohammad Allan Draghmi's front door is violently forced open. Since around midnight, on the night of Tuesday, Nov. 25, to Wednesday, Nov. 26, the Israeli army has surrounded the city of Tubas and surrounding areas in the northern occupied West Bank with armored vehicles. Soldiers are conducting random searches in about twenty houses and demolishing buildings with bulldozers. "Around 3 a.m., Israeli soldiers jumped over the walls and forced open the main door," recalls the 60-year-old, an official at the Palestinian Central Elections Commission.
