BEIRUT — Walid Moussa was reelected president of the Syndicate of Real Estate Agents and Consultants in Lebanon (REAL) for a four-year term on Nov. 26, during elections to replace four board members whose terms had expired.
"The four members [of the board] who were nominated within the specified period — Walid Moussa, Tony Lahoud, Pamela el-Khazen and Aline Khairallah — were elected unopposed," the statement published for the occasion noted. The new board now consists of: Walid Moussa (president); Haitham el-Kurdi (vice president); Jihad Abou Chakra (secretary); Tony Lahoud (treasurer); and board members Raghda Assaad, Pamela el-Khazen, Aline Khairallah and Nabil Najjar.
In his speech after being elected, Moussa said "that the next phase will see intensive efforts to follow up on key sector issues and the recommendations from the 3rd edition of the REAL Real Estate Forum (held on Oct. 28), continue the legal process to organize the profession of real estate agents, and enhance service quality to contribute to the development of the profession," the statement concluded.
Walid Moussa was first elected as head of REAL in 2017, succeeding Massaad Fares.
