Arrested since Oct. 7, hundreds of Palestinians were released with the cease-fire. Their accounts of torture and humiliation testify to the cruel treatment they endured.

Jibril al-Safadi needs a prosthetic to move forward and try to forget the nightmare he has barely survived. During his incarceration in Israeli prisons, the 46-year-old Gazan endured torture, hunger and the unbearable anxiety of not knowing the fate of his loved ones, trapped in the genocidal war waged by Israel.He was first sent to Sde Teiman in the Negev Desert, described as Israel’s “Guantanamo” by human rights organizations. There, his health quickly deteriorated.
