On Monday, U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order tasking Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent with submitting a report on including certain branches of the Muslim Brotherhood in Lebanon, Egypt, and Jordan on the list of "foreign terrorist organizations."In an information sheet accompanying the order, the White House points to the "material support" provided by the Jordanian Muslim Brotherhood to Hamas and the complicity of the group's Lebanese branch — al-Jamaa al-Islamiyya — with Hamas and Hezbollah in their war against Israel.The statement also notes that a leader of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood "had called for violent attacks against U.S. partners and interests" during Israel's war on Gaza.This designation would make any support for the group...
