The Gaza Strip Civil Defense reported at least three people killed in new Israeli attacks carried out Monday morning against the Palestinian enclave, despite the cease-fire.

"Three martyrs were cared for after being killed by Israeli gunfire," said Mahmoud Bassal, spokesmperson for the first aid organization. "Two of them were hit by an Israeli drone strike in the city of Bani Suhaila, east of Khan Younis, and another by a tank shell in the al-Tuffah neighborhood in eastern Gaza City," he said.

Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis (south) confirmed it had received two dead and three wounded, one of whom was described as being in critical condition. Mohammad Abou Salmiya, director of al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City (north), confirmed he had recorded the death of one person and treated several wounded, after an Israeli tank fired bullets and a shell in the al-Tuffah neighborhood, northeast of the city.

"Occupying aircraft carried out several airstrikes this morning on areas in the southeast of Khan Younis and in Rafah, in the south," said a local security source. The Israeli army, for its part, said it had killed three people in two successive incidents near the "Yellow Line," close to Khan Younis in southern Gaza. As usual, the military claimed that these individuals posed "an immediate threat" after "crossing the Yellow Line" and approaching Israeli soldiers deployed in the area. The statement said that the "air force" was tasked with "neutralizing the terrorists."

The death toll would now rise to four, according to medical sources cited by the Qatari channel Al Jazeera. Local correspondents for the outlet said that the latest attacks were carried out in areas beyond the "Yellow Line," demarcating the part of the Palestinian territory that remains under Israeli army control under the Trump plan.

These new attacks come after Israel stepped up its strikes on the Palestinian enclave, in violation of the cease-fire that went into effect on Oct. 10, as a Hamas delegation arrived in Cairo Sunday night for talks on the second phase of the agreement. The truce was further undermined by the latest wave of airstrikes over the weekend conducted by the Israeli air force across the besieged territory, where search operations for the bodies of deceased Israeli hostages continue nonetheless.

Monday morning, Hamas officials, accompanied by the Red Cross and an Egyptian committee, began searching for the remains of a captive in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, according to local sources.

On Sunday, Gaza's Health Ministry said it had recorded 21 deaths in the 24 hours before its last official report, plus two more killed whose bodies were buried under the rubble. Some 83 others were wounded in the same period. This brings the total to at least 339 Palestinians killed by the Israeli army since the truce agreement went into effect, in addition to 871 wounded and the burial of 574 people killed in previous attacks.

In total, at least 69,756 Palestinians have been killed and 170,946 wounded since the start of the Israeli war against the Gaza Strip on Oct. 7, 2023.
