Gaza’s Civil Defense announced Saturday that an Israeli strike killed three people in Gaza City, in the north of the Palestinian territory, where the cease-fire between Hamas and Israel has appeared increasingly fragile since mid-week.
“Three martyrs and several wounded were recovered after an occupation strike targeted a civilian car near the al-Abbas junction, in the al-Rimal neighborhood in western Gaza City,” said Mahmoud Bassal, spokesman for the first-aid organization operating under Hamas authority.
According to local authorities, Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip have killed dozens of people since Wednesday, with Israel and the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas accusing each other of violating the fragile cease-fire in effect since Oct. 10.
