Under a relentless August sun, at the exact spot where the blazing star strikes the Lebanese mountains, the verdant curves of Shouf unfold. Here, some 860 meters above sea level, on the southern slope of Mount Lebanon, sits Beiteddine Palace. At its heart is the Midan, once used for military ceremonies. Next to this majestic esplanade are the old stables, which, for several decades now, have left behind their original equestrian functions to become a museum space.
