BEIRUT — At least 139 Palestinians were killed and 425 injured in Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours, the health ministry reported Sunday.
In its statement, the ministry said 28 people were killed while trying to obtain humanitarian aid.
According to Al-Jazeera, an Israeli drone strike targeted a group of Palestinians at the Gaza City market, killing at least ten people and injuring many others. A surgeon from al-Ahli Baptist Hospital, Ahmad Qandil, was killed in the attack, according to local correspondents from the Qatar-based pan-Arab media outlet.
This new figure from Gaza authorities brings the number of Palestinians killed since the start of the Israeli offensive in October 2023 to 58,026, not counting the thousands who remain missing under the rubble.
Recently, several independent scientific studies have suggested that these reports may underestimate the actual number of Palestinian victims, which could have already reached the 100,000 death mark.
