The United Nations warned on Saturday that the fuel shortage in the Gaza Strip has reached a ''critical level,'' threatening to significantly worsen the suffering in the war-ravaged Palestinian territory.
''After nearly two years of war, the people of Gaza are facing extreme hardship, including widespread food insecurity. When fuel runs out, it becomes yet another unbearable burden on a population already on the brink of famine,'' seven U.N. agencies said in a joint statement.
