Rafah's 'humanitarian city': Israeli 'concentration camp' in Gaza

"The Jewish state is building a ghetto": That is the shocking headline of an op-ed published Thursday, July 10, in the left-wing Israeli daily Haaretz, which also ran an editorial the same day titled "Israel wants to build the most moral concentration camp in the world." This follows an idea floated days earlier by Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz to build a "humanitarian city" in Rafah, in southern Gaza.The plan is said to have received the approval of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, according to a well-informed source quoted by Haaretz. The plan envisions eventually relocating 600,000 Palestinians to the far south of the enclave, with civilians completely unable to leave this area, while the rest of the Palestinian territory would be treated as a battlefield to enable the final elimination of Hamas....
