Swimmer killed after being struck by boat near Beirut’s Raouche Rock

BEIRUT — A swimmer was killed Monday after being struck by a boat off the coast of Beirut near the iconic Raouche Rock, a source at the Civil Defense told L'Orient Today on Wednesday.“The body was transported to the Hassanein mortuary in Sabra," the source said. "The deceased is a foreign national who also holds Lebanese citizenship, and it appears he died as a result of being struck by a boat."The identity of the victim has not yet been officially released, pending notification of next of kin.
