Since January, Israel has been conducting unprecedented military operations in the northern West Bank, officially to eradicate the remaining armed factions. The occupied territory has never experienced such a wave of population displacements since the 1967 war. Israel has also never been as explicit about its annexation threats, driven by an ultranationalist wing of Benjamin Netanyahu's government, the most right-wing in the country's history.
