Israel says UN 'aligning itself' with Hamas over Gaza aid

Israel on Friday accused the United Nations of siding with the Palestinian militant group Hamas after U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres criticized an Israeli-backed aid distribution system in the Gaza Strip.

Israel’s Foreign Ministry said in a post on X that the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation — supported by both Israel and the United States — had delivered “46 million meals” to the war-torn enclave. “The U.N. is doing everything it can to oppose this effort,” the ministry said. “In doing so, the U.N. is aligning itself with Hamas, which is also trying to sabotage the GHF’s humanitarian operations.”
