US strikes against Iran 'an aggression against Islamic world,' says Hezbollah MP

Hezbollah MP Hussein Jeshi condemned on Sunday the U.S. strike on Iranian nuclear sites, calling it “an aggression against the entire Islamic world and all those who remain free by rejecting American hegemony.”

“Without American support, the Zionist entity would not have dared to target Palestine and Lebanon, or to continue its aggression into Iran, a pillar of Islam,” Jeshi said during a pro-Iranian demonstration in the southern Lebanese city of Sour.

Israel has been waging war in Gaza since the Hamas-led attack on Oct. 7, 2023. Its conflict with Hezbollah was paused by a cease-fire in November 2024, though Israeli strikes on Lebanese territory have continued on a near-daily basis. While Israel launched its offensive against Iran on June 13, the overnight U.S. intervention marks a major escalation.

Despite Lebanese authorities’ assurances that the country will remain neutral, fears persist that Hezbollah may enter the new front.

“The American project aims to subjugate the peoples of the region and exploit their resources, and the Zionist enemy is its local enforcer,” Jeshi said. “They want to punish Iran for supporting oppressed peoples — especially the Palestinian people.”

“This is a battle between good and evil,” he added, “between the peoples of this region defending themselves and the evil represented by the Israeli entity.”
