French President Emmanuel Macron said Saturday that European nations would "accelerate negotiations" with Iran to "end the war and prevent greater dangers," following a phone call with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.

The French leader expressed his "deep concern over Iran’s nuclear program," he stated on the social media platform X, more than a week after the war between Iran and Israel began. Macron emphasized that "Iran must never acquire nuclear weapons" and must "provide full guarantees that its intentions are peaceful."
