Thousands of people were protesting Friday against Israel in Tehran, following the weekly prayer, chanting slogans in support of their leaders, according to images broadcast by state television.
"It is Friday of solidarity and resistance of the Iranian nation across the country," said the television news presenter. The images showed protesters holding portraits of commanders killed since the start of the war with Israel, while others waved Iranian flags and those of the Lebanese Hezbollah.
