BEIRUT — General Security (GS) released a statement on Wednesday informing all foreigners in Lebanon, Arabs and others, whose papers (visas, residence permits, etc.) have expired, that they can leave the country without paying penalties.
This decision has been in effect since June 13, the GS adds, without specifying whether this measure is in any way related to the ongoing war between Israel and Iran, which began on that date.
In its statement, the GS informs travelers in this situation that they will be able to regularize their status for free with the airport authorities, "provided they present proof of holding an airline ticket and the intention to leave the country immediately."
