BEIRUT — Hezbollah lawmaker Ibrahim Moussawi on Tuesday evening posted a message on his X account about dignity and dishonor, accompanied by the hashtag 'Our Lives for Khamenei.'

Iran, of which Hezbollah is a steadfast ally, has been under Israeli fire since June 13, and the life of the Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, is threatened. U.S. President Donald Trump, who could drag his country into this war alongside Israel, stated that he knows where the Iranian leader is located but does not plan to target him "for now."

In his message, filled with Quranic references, lawmaker Moussawi suggested that he would prefer a fight, even an uneven one, over dishonor. "God, His Prophet, and all believers will not tolerate us preferring obedience to the wicked over the death of heroes," he wrote.

Hezbollah has not decided to intervene in the conflict. The Lebanese authorities intend to keep the decision of war and peace in their hands, but there is much speculation about whether Hezbollah, which has never taken the Lebanese government's will into account, will decide to participate in the war or not, despite its weakening during its recent war with Israel.
